ChoreoLab Project
ChoreoLab Project, 2026
2026 will be the second year of the ChoreoLab Project. The goal of ChoreoLab is to foster the development of new dance works in the Ann Arbor area.
Terpsichore Collective will:
-
Help connect choreographers with dancers and rehearsal space.
-
Provide feedback and mentorship, through rehearsal visits and a works in progress showing.
-
Provide produced performance opportunities, which will be video recorded and photographed so that choreographers will have quality documentation of their work.
ChoreoLab Artists will:
-
Commit to performing their piece for a Works-in-Progress showing, most likely in May (dates TBD)
-
Commit to showing the finished work at Dancing in Summer, The Festival, June 26-28.
-
Have their work considered for inclusion in the Terpsichore Collective Autumn Concert, October 23-24
ChoreoLab is unpaid for dancers and choreographers. There will be six slots available for 2026. Terpsichore Collective dancers are asked to commit to performing in no more than one ChoreoLab work per season, and only as it does not conflict with their company rehearsal schedule.
Terpsichore Collective will put out a call for dancers who would like to participate. Casting is at the discretion of the choreographer. Please keep in mind that selection for the Autumn Concert will take into account the caliber of performance quality of the dancers cast.
Rehearsal time slots will generally be during week days, 12-3pm.
